When the school year began, the students in Rabbi Teichman’s gemara shiur at Heichal HaTorah took on the challenge of tackling an entire masechta of gemara over the course of the year. The ten boys have been plugging away at Masechet Sukkah, learning and reviewing as they progress. By Chanukah, the class hit a milestone—they completed the first perek, a long and complex one consisting of 19 blatt. To celebrate their progress, the boys’ rebbe, Rabbi Teichman, shuttled them to Carlos and Gabby’s in Riverdale. There they made a siyum, replete with divrei Torah from two students, Eli Karfunkel and Leibel Weiss.
