Holy Name Medical Center’s annual “Lunch and Learn in the Sukkah” returned to its home on the lobby level patio after being relocated last year due to flooding from Hurricane Ida. Lunch and Learn was addressed by Holy Name CEO Michael Maron and attended by several Teaneck Council members, numerous hospital staff, the CEO and marketing director of breast and ovarian cancer support organization Sharsheret, many community members, and Holy Name volunteer Simi Friedman.
Refreshments were enjoyed by all as Maron spoke briefly, noting that even though the complexity of life has increased tenfold, how the sukkah represents both the fragility of life and honors the simplicity of life, with the universal “sheltering of souls” by an intelligent creator connecting all of us. He described the experience of being in the sukkah as “a reflective moment for everyone.”
