Jerusalem—As the Israeli real estate market continues to heat up and investors look towards Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and all around the country for the opportunity to cash in or find the home of their dreams, Shia Getter, author of the recently published Everything You Need to Know about Buying Real Estate in Israel will tour the U.S. to offer private consultations.
According to Getter, who has decades of experience consulting buyers and managing properties, the biggest mistake customers make is coming into a deal uninformed. This lack of knowledge provided him the motivation to write his book.
“Real Estate is a whole different ballgame in Israel and one where it’s all too easy to get taken advantage of,” Getter says. “Our goal is to inform potential buyers to the extent that they will be able to make the best possible decisions—ones that can help save hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
The book, which was recently released by Feldheim Publishers, offers a review of all the key issues: from identifying the best projects, managing the confusing process of securing a mortgage, and knowing what issues require legal counsel and where buyers can go it alone.
“It’s not just a different spoken language in Israel, it’s literally an entirely different business culture so those who don’t understand those differences will be at a disadvantage when it comes to getting the best possible deals.”
While in the U.S., Getter will hold meetings in Teaneck on February 11th, the Five Towns on February 12th, and Miami on February 24th. He will be available to advise potential buyers on which projects are best for their specific needs and budgets and what pitfalls to avoid as they move ahead in the process.
“Perhaps it’s become cliché to say that a smart buyer is an informed buyer, but in Israel this takes on a whole new meaning,” he says. “If you’re going to go into a potential purchase without all the relevant information, you will quickly get frustrated, confused, not to mention spending tens of thousands of dollars more than you need to.”
