This week the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey hosted its first joint Mitzvah Pop-Up with camp Moshava Ba’ir.
Jewish Federation had a great experience facilitating and organizing the Mitzvah Pop-Up shop with the camp, where together they made over 500 “snack packs” for children in need. These snacks will either go to a child who is going straight to a counseling session after school or to a child who doesn’t have access to enough food.
For the children to fully understand the real meaning behind the mitzvah they were doing, a few of them made the delivery to Jewish Family and Children’s Services. The energy and excitement the children had for doing a mitzvah made this program amazing.
Thank you to the many parents who sent in the many snacks for their kids to pack. This mitzvah opportunity can continue beyond the pop-up! Join the federation on Sunday, August 18, at Jewish Federation’s Supplies for Success and help pack a backpack for one of the hundreds of children in northern New Jersey without school supplies.
