JFS Clifton Enjoys a Night of Inclusion and Celebration

(Courtesy of JFS Clifton) Over 70 community members joined JFS last week at their annual meeting and Volunteer Recognition Dinner. The dinner highlighted the many ways JFS volunteers help keep the agency running smoothly. The new Working It Out program is a pre-vocational, on-the-job experience to enable individuals with special needs to begin the journey to more vocationally meaningful opportunities. Working It Out volunteers help out in the food pantry, work in the JFS garden, assist with compiling packets for presentations and recently put together over 60 flower arrangements for the JFS Shavuot fundraiser. Esther Bell was presented with the Hugh Allen Eigen Volunteer Award as a distinguished volunteer for her work with children. Attendees heard moving speeches by Fran Leichenstein, board president, and Esther East, JFS executive director. JFS reports that the evening was a success and that they look forward to tackling new projects in the coming year.
