JFS MetroWest to Send Care Packages to At-Risk Older Adults

(Courtesy of JFS MetroWest) Through a very generous donation from the Sobel Family Foundation, Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ (JFS) is delivering “care packages” to 300 at-risk older adults in the community. The care packages will be delivered over the next few weeks, by JFS volunteers, to residents of Village Apartments in South Orange, The Federation Plaza in West Orange, B’nai B’rith in South Orange and homebound adults living in private homes. Packages include paper products (tissues, paper towels, toilet paper), household cleaners, dish detergent, sanitizing wipes, hand soap, hand sanitizer, PPE (masks, gloves), cookies (who doesn’t love a treat) and cards made by volunteers.

“These care packages will provide necessary and sometimes hard-to-find disinfectants, sanitizing wipes, gloves, masks and other supplies to older adults living in the community who are most at risk for contracting COVID-19. We hope these care packages will remind the recipients that we are here to support them,” stated Stephanie Grove, RSVP director at Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ.

Special thank you to Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest for bringing the good work of Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ to the attention of the Sobel Family Foundation.
