The middle school students at JKHA had an exciting week of Chanukah chesed. The sixth grade students began a two-day long project of cooking and packing food for Tomchei Shabbos. They prepared full meals that were delivered the following day to families in need for Shabbat. The seventh grade students brightened the day for the senior citizens at Daughters of Miriam, Lester Senior Housing and Daughters of Israel. Students visited with the residents and did Chanukah activities together. The eighth grade took its annual trip to the Community Food Bank of NJ where they packed boxes of supplies that families need for the holiday season and beyond. The division participated in a number of other Chanukah related activities all week, but the highlight of the week was being able to give back to the community and perform chesed.
