Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy Welcomes New Families

The Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy in Livingston was thrilled to welcome close to 30 of the new families that will be starting at JKHA in the fall at an informal evening program. These new families gathered in a private home to meet administration and faculty as well as current parents. The meetup was useful for families to learn about what to expect when their child starts school and to be able to ask any questions they might have had. A feeling of warmth exuded throughout the room during the whole evening, as the newest families joined the JKHA community.

The Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy and the Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School have been witnessing tremendous growth recently, with an 11 percent school-wide growth in the last two years. Both divisions continue to receive unprecedented inquiries to the school, and JKHA is proud to welcome its largest pre-kindergarten class in 10 years for the upcoming 2016-17 school year. Families are drawn to the school based on its reputation for academic excellence and its commitment to affordability. Many of the new families who have enrolled in the school for 2016-17 are participants in the innovative Bonim community growth program, a community-wide effort to attract new families to JKHA/RKYHS and the surrounding Jewish communities, and part of the school’s three-pronged commitment to affordability. These new families have enrolled in the school and moved to one of the participating school communities, making them eligible for tuition discounts of up to $25,000, synagogue incentives of up to $12,500 and JCC benefits of up to $15,000, bringing the total benefit up to over $50,000. New families have recently moved to the school’s surrounding communities from Teaneck, Manhattan, Riverdale, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Israel.
