In February, The Jewish Link introduced the community to one of its youngest entrepreneurs. Matan Moskowitz, a eighth-grade student who had created and opened his very own Matan’s Creamery right here in Bergenfield.
This young man no doubt is going places! He already supplies Grand & Essex with his flavorful chalav yisrael ice cream. Yet, that was not enough for this up and coming mogul. Matan, on his very own, contacted Joel Wolh, the CEO of Powwow Events, director and coordinator of KosherPalooza 2024. Matan requested a booth to display his creations, explaining that he is only in the eighth grade and did not have the financing necessary to do so.
Before he had a chance to ponder whether or not he would even be considered for such a “chutzpadik” request, he received much more than he ever could have expected. Wolh posted it on his site; immediately a friend offered to contribute $1,000 toward his booth, and others offered lighting, free promo products and a free website. An official brand video was created, a free bus stop advertisement, and free T-shirts for Matan and his helpers (his parents). The list is never-ending. Everyone enjoyed the creativeness and enthusiasm of this young man, who no doubt will go far.
We wish him the very best in all of his future endeavors, especially in shining at Heichal HaTorah. And rumor has it that they will shortly be introducing a course on business management in his honor!
