Leah Escott Runs for Bergenfield Board of Education

My name is Lisa (Leah) Escott. I’m running for the Bergenfield Board of Education this Election Day in November. Our family is part of the Beth Abraham community, and has been for the past 29 years. I grew up in Jericho, Long Island and was educated and graduated from the local public school system.

I have a B.A. in economics from Stern College for Women and a B.S. in nursing from Downstate University, and I am currently a childrens’ author (leahescott.com).

We have a truly beautiful community filled with talented, bright, wonderful families who are very, very busy. Voter turnout for local elections is usually quite low. Some people may wonder, “What do I care about the Bergenfield Board of Ed?” First, we have a duty to each one of us to make sure that our public schools are educating our children properly.

Additionally, for those who choose not to avail themselves of our excellent public school system, some kids need extra assistance, with which only the government-funded public schools are equipped to help. Throughout the country, approaches to education have been forced upon public schools without the knowledge or consent of the parents. If we just let things take their course, it doesn’t always turn out well.

Finally, I will be a watchdog to make sure that our school taxes are spent properly.

I encourage everyone to turn out and vote for me on Election Day, November 7, or before by mail-in ballot, and vote for Lisa Escott-Conservative Values. If you want to help my campaign please email me at [email protected].

Thank you for your support.
