Four Ma’ayanot students had creative works selected for publication in the winter edition of Sippur, an online Jewish literary magazine for teens. All of the submissions relate to the edition theme, Bravery.
Sophomore Liat Silver submitted a creative writing piece about “being yourself” and how that sometimes requires internal bravery. Seniors Leora Kohn and Aliza Neugroshl both submitted Holocaust sketches that they had worked on for their AP Art class. Sophomore Shoshana Klein also had artwork accepted; her entry is titled “Be Brave.” When asked why this theme resonated with her, Ms. Klein noted, “It takes bravery to be yourself. When you go to shamayim, nobody will ask ‘why weren’t you like Moshe or Bob’; they will ask you why you weren’t yourself.”
