Mitch Gross Basketball League March Madness Recap

This past weekend showcased terrific talent as the younger two divisions began their quests for the championship. Like all derivations of March Madness; the weekend was packed with bracket busting upsets, defensive battles and a few offensive explosions

When team Meridian Capital group (9) matched up with team Frankowitz Orthodontic (8), all were expecting a great game. The offensive output that ensued was something for the record books, a combined 90 points in forty minutes of third/ fourth grade basketball may never be repeated. The MGBL commissioner onsite told the Jewish Link of New Jersey “it was as if the boys couldn’t miss, every shot seemed to fall and the most impressive part is that it wasn’t just one player, every player on Meridian scored as did six members of the Frankowitz team.”

The exciting action continues this weekend as the second grade boys play the quarter finals Sunday, third and fourth grade boys play the quarter finals motzei Shabbos and the semifinals Sunday afternoon, fifth and sixth grade boys will play round one after Shabbos and round two on Sunday, seventh and eigth grade boys will similarly play the first two rounds this weekend.

If you are frustrated with the NCAA and out of your office pool, or just want to see really good local ball come on down to Frisch High School, Yeshivat Ben Porat Yosef or the Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey. The entire weekend schedule is below or at MGBL.ORG
