Montclair Playground Vandalized With Antisemitic Graffiti

A playground in Montclair, New Jersey was vandalized over the weekend with swastikas, antisemitic phrases and hate speech. According to StopAntisemitism, the graffiti was “grotesque,” and included Nazi references.

Lt. Terence Turner of the Montclair Police Department told Arutz Sheva that seven different phrases were spray painted on the playground, including on the park gate and the slide. He shared that the incident is being taken seriously, and is the first incident of its kind that the town has experienced in recent memory.

“The images and phrases were removed by officers on scene with the assistance of the Department of Public Works,” the Montclair Police Department said in a statement.

This troubling antisemitism is being actively investigated by a Department detective who is trained in hate crimes along with the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, New Jersey State Police and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
