Moriah kindergartners enjoyed learning about French artist Paul Cezanne. They looked at and discussed many of his still life paintings. They learned that in order to sketch a still life, the objects must not move. The class noticed that Cezanne often painted fruits, vegetables, baskets and pitchers that he placed on a table. Each child chose different foods to draw. The children arranged the food they selected and began to sketch in pencil. They used a new medium – cray-pas – to complete their Cezanne masterpieces. Their work will be showcased in the classroom art gallery.
