Moriah Marks the Shloshim of Aleza Baltuch Winslow z”l

The conclusion of Pesach marked the shloshim of the passing of Moriah’s dear Aleza Winslow z”l. Aleza was an exemplary model of someone who showed love, care, and dedication to both the Moriah Family, and to our entire Jewish community. The school brainstormed the idea of completing a Masechet of Mishna in her memory. During the Gemara classes on Tuesday, April 14th, each class learned the few Mishnayot that were assigned to them. With help from the administration, teachers, and students, Moriah was able to complete the entire Masechta. Dr. Prager eloquently explained, when he addressed the Middle School following Mincha, that Pirkei Avot was chosen because Aleza identified with so many of the traits that are taught throughout the Masechta. Aleza illustrated the morals of Pirkei Avot by showing her dedication to her job and her care to the Moriah Family. The Moriah community hopes to continue to merit the memory of Aleza Winslow forever, and that their collective learning be a source of merit to her.
