Twenty Moriah seventh and eighth graders attended the Teen Leadership Conference at the JCC last Friday. The students joined several other schools from around the area to discuss topics such as racism, gender stereotypes, media messaging and stress. Not only were they exposed to a variety of perspectives, but they were able to discuss their own experiences and points of view. The teen leadership group returned to the Moriah Middle School with a broader understanding of societal issues and they can now educate their peers on their newly found perspectives.
