Naaleh’s Chumash department has incorporated independent Chumash term papers as part of the Tanach program in an effort to encourage students to expand their skills and take ownership of their learning. By researching and composing original Torah content, students are developing their textual skills and honing their critical thinking. Each grade has a uniquely designed assignment tailored to cultivate intellectual curiosity, inspiration and love of Tanach. The freshmen researched the Mishkan, its associated vessels, and the bigdei kehuna. As they explored both the technicalities and philosophies behind each vessel and garment, the students created stunning, comprehensive handbooks for the kohanim to navigate their service. Each handbook was complete with a letter expressing the responsibilities of spiritual leadership.
