This year, MTA’s Arista Honors Society embarked upon multiple blood drives to support the New York Blood Center. The students and staff went above and beyond the minimum donation requirements, and, as a thank-you, the Blood Center invited MTA students to both a Mets game on Monday, June 15 and a Yankees game on Wednesday, June 17.
Additionally, some student representatives were invited onto the field prior to the start of the game. Menachem Gans (’15), of New Jersey, who spearheaded the blood drives, was invited to lead the MTA contingent, alongside Steven Stein (’14) and Zev Markowitz (’15). In total, MTA enjoyed 10 tickets to see the Mets come from behind in the 11th to beat the Blue Jays 4-3, and 30 tickets to see the Yankees edge out the Marlins 2-1. It was a very nice perk for an incredibly admirable effort.
