Pretzel Challah Is Just the Beginning for Take a Break Catering

Many people have already discovered Take a Break Catering through its uniquely scrumptious pretzel challah, which is currently available in 10 stores throughout the region, including in Glatt Express, Ma’adan and Best Glatt in Teaneck, Fair Lawn’s Food Showcase, and several stores in Passaic and Livingston. The challah has the crust and flavor of a freshly baked soft pretzel, with the slightest, and very pleasing, hint of challah sweetness.

Yoni Siletski, who grew up in Teaneck’s Beth Aaron community, is founder and owner of Take a Break Catering LLC. He is Le Cordon Bleu-trained at the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute. Working for many years in the non-kosher culinary world gained him many years of experience that he is now applying in his catering business, which is currently certified under the Vaad of Metrowest, where his business is based.

Siletski explained that his cooking style is seasonal and fully integrated with fusion-esque undertones and he has an organic, healthy, whole-foods approach to kosher cuisine that is unparalleled on the kosher catering market today. His pretzel challah is vegan, egg free and nut free, and he told The Jewish Link he pays particular attention to food allergy concerns in all his catering, because of the prevalence of food allergies in children today.

Siletski does both full-service and drop-off catering, from weddings and bar mitzvahs to smaller intimate and upscale events. Take a Break has recently developed a comprehensive corporate catering guide that provides any business with snacks, breakfast, lunch platters, boxed lunches “to-go” and catering for any corporate event.

“We believe food plays an integral role in a healthy lifestyle. We enjoy working with our clients to create customized menus and delicious memories. From vegan/vegetarian to organic to dishes with Asian flare—you name it and we can cook it,” said Siletski.

Currently, Take a Break caters dairy, pareve and fleishig (glatt) for all occasions. Sample menus, many of which are available on Siletski’s website, http://www.takeabreakcatering.com, are “just a jumping-off point. We have standard menus online but we always veer off for the customer’s taste or preferences,” he told The Jewish Link.

Aside from Siletski’s catering, he is launching his EZ Shabbos Delivery service on March 4, where you can order for Shabbos from a storefront online with limitless options. For more information visit EZShabbos.com or look for the Jewish Link’s upcoming article about this innovative and convenient solution for Shabbos.

Over the next couple of months, Siletski also shared he is readying his second foray into the retail marketplace, with a line of organic, vegan salad dressings.
