Faculty of the JEC’s Rav Teitz Mesivta Academy division participated in an in-service day of professional development that encouraged their “Growth Mindset.”
With the division anticipating continued growth and expansion in the coming years under the tutelage of recently appointed principal Rabbi Ami Neuman, and due to the successful recruitment program Atidenu, faculty motivation and energies are running high.
A robust professional development agenda is a cornerstone of his educational philosophy and Rabbi Neuman invited the renowned educator’s educator Dr. Jon D’Auria to lead the interactive workshop “Developing a Growth Mindset.” D’Auria has worked with hundreds of school leaders around the country on sharpening the academic focus of school teams, developing a vibrant school culture and managing conflict in the workplace. He was recently appointed to the Rennie Center Condition of Education Advisory Committee, and his research focuses on the ways in which the assumptions that people hold about intelligence significantly influence their learning. RTMA faculty were engaged and discussion on the workshop content continued well beyond the end of the formal session.
Faculty were also treated to an end-of-the-year lunch at Avenue Grill, which provided a relaxed opportunity to interact with one another and the administration after a very full and productive school year.
