Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky was recently invited to give the invocation at the New Jersey State Assembly’s first session of 2020.

Rabbi Kanelsky highlighted how we just celebrated the holiday of Chanukah by kindling the menorah, which illuminates the world in these dark, uncertain times. The word Chanukah has the same letters as the word chinuch/education—the new year will be dedicated to educating all children to have pure belief and trust in God. By focusing on the physical through the judicial system and spiritual through the candles of Chanukah, so much can be accomplished.
