On Wednesday, January 12, the TABC board president sent an email to the school’s families, sharing the news that Rabbi Adelman had submitted his resignation, effective immediately. The email included Rabbi Adelman’s letter to the school community, which said, in part: “It is with great sadness that I announce my resignation, effective immediately, as Head of School of TABC.”
He added, “Over the past six months, because of issues in my personal life, I have found myself unable to devote my full attention to my duties at TABC. The students and parents of TABC deserve a Head of School who is not distracted by outside issues and, at this time, I cannot make the full-time commitment that the job requires and that the Yeshiva deserves.”
In accepting Rabbi Adelman’s resignation, the board announced that Director of Guidance Rabbi Steven Finkelstein would be the students’ primary contact for all academic needs during midterms. It was further shared with the parent body that a search committee for a new head of school was in formation and significant updates would be forthcoming.
