(Ma’ayanot Sports) The Maayanot Rapids soccer team came back from Pesach break Monday night with two big games against the Kushner Cobras. The JV squads’ first period started off with a goal from Kushner, but the Rapids answered back with two goals from sophomores Meital Rimberg and Aliza Guzman. In the second period Kushner came back with a second goal. At half time, the score was 2-2. The young, undefeated JV Rapids had to push past the pressure. Rimberg had her second goal of the day and the first goal of the third period, but Kushner answered back with two more, bringing the score to 4-3. A strong pep talk from the coaches motivated the players. Rimberg banged in three more with Kushner pushing through one. Goalie, Chana Bin-Nun made about 10 big saves. The final score was 6-5.

The varsity Rapids had a similarly close game with goals scored by Meital Hirschkorn, Hodaya Rimberg (four total) and Aleeza Goldberg. Seniors Leah Weiss and Mayan Berkowitz both had an assist each, while goalie, Maayan Berkowitz had over 20 saves. The final score was 6-7.
