This past Monday night the young women of the RKYHS community had a chance to shine on stage in Koleinu, an all-female performance night. The acts showcased students’ varied talents in a warm and celebratory environment at this annual event. Through both live acts and videos, performers shared their talents as student emcees, sophomores Marielle Braunstein and Jessica Klein led the evening with humor and aplomb. One fantastic act followed another, with students tap dancing, figure skating, tumbling and more. Student singers put beautiful spins on “This is Me,” “The Scientist” and “V’Hi She’Amda,” with friends often accompanying them on piano. There were also students who showed their considerable skills playing the steel drum and the bongos. As the evening concluded with a flash mob of “Hoedown Throwdown,” the laughter, cheers and applause marked the end of a very special night.
