The eighth grade students at RPRY are working on the final stages of the production process for the Names, Not Numbers® program.
Names, Not Numbers® is an interactive, multi-media, Holocaust Oral History Film Documentary project created by educator Tova Fish-Rosenberg.
Following a week of interviews in February, during which they interviewed and filmed seven Holocaust survivors, student groups worked to edit their survivors’ approximately 2-hour oral history films. These student-edited versions of each film will be sent to Adam Chinoy, the filmmaker of the RPRY Names, Not Numbers® project. Mr. Chinoy will incorporate the student-created and edited interviews into a full-length documentary film featuring the stories of the seven survivors and the work of the participating students on the project. The final film, Names, Not Numbers®: A Movie in the Making, details the entire year-long program.
The entire community is invited to join us on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., at Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva, for the culminating event and screening of the film, Names, Not Numbers®: A Movie in the Making, when we will honor the survivors and showcase the eighth grade students’ work.
You can support the Names, Not Numbers® program at RPRY and ensure its continuity by memorializing or honoring a survivor or a loved one here.
The Names, Not Numbers® program is generously supported by a prominent national foundation.
