The Stamford Chevra Kadisha will be sponsoring its annual Zayin Adar dinner on Thursday evening, March 6, at 6:30 p.m. at Congregation Agudath Sholom.
This year’s dinner will honor all of the volunteers who perform taharas for the group and engage in this important mitzvah.
“The annual Chevra Kadisha dinner is one of the most eagerly awaited community events on the calendar,” said Claudia Kraut, co-chair for this year’s dinner. “It’s especially gratifying this year to honor the many members of our Chevra, who perform the selfless task of preparing the deceased for a proper Jewish burial.”
As part of the dinner’s program, several members of the Chevra Kadisha will participate in a panel, discussing why this particular mitzvah is meaningful to them and why the organization is so important to the community.
The cost to attend the dinner is $75 per person. Sponsorships are also available at $180, which entitles an individual to two dinner reservations, and $360, which entitles an individual to two dinner reservations.
