Stamford’s Schoke JFS Raises $15,000 Through Matching Campaign to Support Brothers for Life

(Courtesy of Schoke JFS) Schoke Jewish Family Service (Schoke JFS) in Stamford successfully completed a fundraising match campaign from October through Nov. 15, raising $15,000 in support of Brothers for Life, an organization dedicated to providing critical psychological and emotional support to injured veterans in Israel. A generous donor offered to match all new or increased gifts to Schoke JFS’ Annual Friends Campaign, with every $2 donated being matched by $1 to Brothers for Life.

This initiative, which focused on community building and healing, directly benefited veterans who have experienced trauma, PTSD and other mental health challenges. Brothers for Life offers a range of services, including recreational therapy, support groups and specialized PTSD treatment, all of which are vital in helping veterans reintegrate into society and cope with the long-lasting effects of war-related injuries.

To commemorate the anniversary of Oct. 7, this special matching fund opportunity had a dual impact, supporting both the local community in Fairfield County and those in need in Israel.

To celebrate the success of the campaign, Ohad Poraz, a veteran and member of Brothers for Life, visited Schoke JFS’ Stamford office to personally collect the $15,000 check and express his deep gratitude on behalf of the organization.
