TABC Students Connect Stereotypes in Basketball With Chaucer

What does a game of pickup basketball have to do with The Canterbury Tales? TABC’s tenth grade class, taught by Mrs. Allison Miller, learned about satire and stereotypes in preparation for their unit on Geoffrey Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales. They watched a video entitled “Stereotypes: Pickup Basketball” and discussed the ways writers use frame narratives and exaggeration to create satire. Mrs. Miller is known for her innovative approach to learning, keeping her students connected and interested in their English studies through her creativity and resourcefulness.
