The TABC varsity basketball team hosted the Frisch Cougars this past Monday night as the Storm looked to pad their lead atop the conference and the Cougars hoped to keep pace in the playoff picture. TABC started the game off strong with two opening baskets from junior sensation Akiva Borgen. At the end of the first frame, TABC held a seven point advantage with Frisch unable to find their rhythm.
Frisch started finding their footing in the second quarter, executing on their 3-point shooting,and cutting the deficit down to just one point by the halftime break. After the Cougars took their first lead of the game in the third quarter, senior Yonah Mandel hit a three to reclaim the Storm advantage. The Storm started to really press the Cougars and went on a 7-0 run. In the final minute of the quarter, senior Dovid Saks nailed two big buckets to keep the Storm in control. The final quarter saw big plays from Borgen, Saks and senior star Eyal Kinderlehrer, who’s been the team’s closer all season. TABC won by a final score of 57-43 and improved their regular season record to 9-1. Saks led all scorers with 17 points followed by Borgen with 14 and another double-double from Kinderlehrer.
