The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Teaneck Doghouse would like to recognize 14-year-old Avishai Avidan as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The recent graduate of the Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County will be taking his game to the Torah Academy of Bergen County in the fall. Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County’s Athletic Director Garry Schragenheim told the JLNJ, “Avishai was the unspoken leader of the team. He was a game changer on the court as he scored over 35 goals in a short eight game season. His craftiness to get through multiple defenders at a time helped him lead the team in scoring. Avishai was the type of player in which coaches had to game plan for, double and triple team in order to try to contain him.”
