The Teaneck International Film Festival (TIFF) will be held from November 11-21, and this year will be both in-person and virtual. From November 11-14 the festival will be held live at Teaneck Cinemas, located at 503 Cedar Lane, and from November 15-21 it will be held virtually via Ovee and Zoom.
The Jewish Link will be sponsoring one of the films, “My Name is Sara,” a film by Steven Oritt, which will be shown virtually on Tuesday, November 16, at 7:30 p.m. This unrated drama runs 111 minutes and tells the true life story of Sara Goralnik, a 13-year-old Polish Jew whose entire family was killed by Nazis in September 1942. After a grueling escape to the Ukrainian countryside, Sara steals her Christian best friend’s identity and finds refuge in a small village, where she is taken in by a farmer and his young wife. She soon discovers the dark secrets of her employers’ marriage, compounding her own greatest secret that she must strive to protect, her true identity.
Tickets are on sale now for individual live and virtual films, with an option for a week-long pass for all the virtual films. For more information, visit www.teaneckfilmfestival.org.
