(Courtesy of TCA) On Thursday, June 14, Tenafly Chabad Academy (TCA) recognized a significant milestone with the graduation of its first eighth grade class. The eight girls who comprised the graduating class each delivered her own personal speech to the proud families, friends, rabbis, teachers, administrators and board members.
Rabbi Mordechai Shain, the founder and head of school, welcomed all the guests including the mayor of Tenafly, Peter Rustin, to the ceremony. Along with Rabbi Shain, Ms. Jennifer Davis, the principal of general studies, presented individual awards to the graduates. The principal of Judaic studies, Mrs. Orite Rubenstein, shared an inspirational message encouraging the students to build upon the strong foundation they achieved at TCA. The new president of TCA, Mr. Michael Young, as well as Mr. Josh Lapsker, a long-time supporter of the school, both shared congratulatory messages with the audience.
On display was magnificent artwork created by the TCA graduates who based their creation on the design of the Israeli sculptor and experimental artist Yaacov Agam. The graduates, under the guidance of TCA’s art teacher Estyn Becker, created the piece to donate to the school in order to commemorate the first eighth grade graduation.
TCA provides excellence in education, in both general and Judaic studies, in a warm, supportive and academic environment. Its faculty is comprised of top-notch educators who are passionate about their students’ intellectual and spiritual growth. The proud graduates of 2018 will be attending the following high schools: The Frisch School, SAR, Monsey Beis Chaya Mushka and The Bergen Academies.
