Did you know that Congressman Josh Gottheimer was instrumental in helping our local synagogues and yeshivot receive significant grant money via the nonprofit security grant program from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)? These grants provide funds that have helped organizations install a variety of security protections against terrorist attacks.

Thanks to Congressman Gottheimer’s leadership and advocacy, 1.2 million federal dollars has been clawed back to New Jersey’s 5th District for the fiscal 2020 year. More than 70% of that amount—over $850,000—has been allocated to Jewish institutions, including our local synagogues and schools.

Since 2016, Congressman Gottheimer has effectively secured over $4.1 million of federal grant money for New Jersey’s 5th District, including recent funding for much-needed fire trucks for Teaneck.
