Our family has been on the receiving line of BVAC services. I know that we are not alone. At the time of a health emergency and calling 911 we had no idea what to expect when the team from BVAC appeared. Nothing could have been more reassuring than having a professional group of medics rush in who were well aware that it was Yom Tov. They immediately took over and tended to my husband in more than a professional manner. On the side they were able to appease our concerns and worries before transporting him to the hospital. On one occasion when we needed to call them on Rosh Hashanah they joked with my husband about stopping the ambulance off near the water to do tashlich.
In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of National EMS Week May 19 through 25, 2024, the Jewish Link wishes to recognize the outstanding service given to the Bergenfield community by BVAC and treated the members of the squad to lunch on Friday, May 24. Composed of all volunteers meeting with members from so many different walks of life is extremely impressive. Thank you BVAC. We urge you all to support your local volunteer ambulance corps.
