The Jewish Link and Drink Up would like to recognize Daniella Fuchs as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. Daniella is a second grader and just wrapped up a Teaneck Junior Soccer (TJSL) championship season. When asked about Daniella, her coach and dad, Jeff Fuchs told The Jewish Link, “Daniella always has a positive attitude. She is always there with a smile and kind words for both teammates and friends on opposing teams.”
Daniella congrats on the championship and for being recognized as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. Who is your role model and why?
My role is my Mom because I want to help people like she does.
What is your favorite sport?
My favorite sport is soccer. I get to meet new people and have fun while playing to win.
What is your pregame routine?
I warm up and get a plan in my head to play and win.
What is your greatest sports accomplishment?
My team won the soccer championship in my league TJSL.
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
My brother Yaakov is my favorite athlete. He taught me how to play football and he would play basketball with me too.
What is your favorite sports memory?
Learning my gymnastics beam routine for team preparation.
What is your earliest sports memory?
I used to play baseball and practice playing catch with my Dad.
What is the weirdest thing that has happened to you while playing ball?
I had a teammate who used to do ballet on the field during the game.
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?
Hangout with my friends and have sleepovers.
What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?
To have fun and be a team player.
