The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Ellie and Noa Douek as this week’s Sportstars of the Week. Ellie (7) and Noa (5), both play basketball and are avid readers of The Jewish Link. When asked about Noa, Simon Bitton of Next Level Sports told the Jewish Link, “Noa has shined in the past season for basketball and is currently doing even better this season! Eager to learn and improve, this young girl has the perfect approach and is a joy to coach.” Zion Sports Academy’s Coach Dana Witkon shared that “Ellie has a great passion for the game, and it is truly inspiring to see her improve with any practice. Her energy and love for basketball are exciting to watch. Her commitment is impressive at that young age.” Ben Porat Yosef Head of Physical Ed, Shaina Gross added that “Ellie has basketball in her blood though. Her mom loves the sport and has passed this down to her girls. Ellie may not be the tallest on the court but her drive and heart shows and makes her seem like she’s six feet tall. She is the nicest, most caring girl. She always makes sure to include her friends, she is a great big sister and role model to her younger siblings.”
