The Idea School is back from vacation but still celebrating the students’ exemplary work from the Winter Exhibition of Student Learning on January 9. The 11th and 12th grade Beit Midrash, studied Parshat Bereishit, both its text and various commentaries, which they used to create projects based on their passions and interests. One student, for example, digitally created drawings of the first family—Adam, Chava, Kayin and Hevel. Another group of students composed, sung and edited a beautiful and haunting song about God creating the world and specifically man. It is always amazing to see what happens when students are given voice and choice in how they learn and allow them to use their passions and talents to create unique and meaningful projects that beautify the world. This is especially impactful in Judaic Studies classes, where students can find and share what they personally find resonant and important in Jewish texts and ideas.
