Almost 10 years ago the Shulman family was in search of a bar mitzvah project. They combined their love of Eretz Yisroel with their love of sports and found the Israel Sport Center for the Disabled. ISCD caters to wounded Chayalim as well as Israelis born with disabilities.
The center rehabs its participants through sports, giving them a feeling of accomplishment their disability would not have otherwise afforded them. They are in the process of completing their gym (so participants can use the facility year round). ISCD has trained many Para Olympic participants and even a few winners.
Almost all the funding for the center comes from donations and, after this past summer, there is a great need for the services provided and an equal need for funding to make it possible. Several youth athletes from the Center will be visiting Teaneck as part of a tour of U.S. cities.
Please join them for a light dessert reception and brief presentation about the ISCD at Congregation Zichron Mordechai: Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 7:30 P.M. For additional information contact Myron Schulman (917-559-5804) or Isaac Shulman (201-741-8546) and visit the Center’s website: WWW.ISCD.COM
