After last year’s success with their first pre-Chanukah boutique, the sisterhood of Congregation Ohr HaTorah of Bergenfield is bringing another vendor-packed shopping experience to the community. Sisterhood presidents Ricki Kurtz and Tamar Gross have worked tirelessly to assemble a collection of favorite local vendors, as well as vendors with a well-known brand, who are typically outside the local shopping perimeter, to offer in-demand items.
One of the most thrilling new additions at this year’s boutique is that the ever-popular Wunderwig will be available for purchase. For anyone thinking about purchasing one, come try out the variety of wigs and colors.
Rayna Boutique opened in Teaneck recently but is already popular, and will be at Ohr HaTorah with its selection of modest, trendy women’s clothing. Bunny Hain’s jewelry, a staple of local boutiques, will be there as well.
“Last year we had vendors that were a big hit with the community,” said Gross. “We are excited to welcome them back, as well as add even more names we are sure will be popular.” One of the biggest hits of last year—Yarmulkes and Bows—had people lining up to make customized kippahs for sons, cousins or smachot. Rest assured, Ohr HaTorah is looking forward to welcoming them back as well.
Combining shopping with making a difference, the popular “Cook Up a Wedding” cookbook will be at the boutique. For those unfamiliar with this series, these cookbooks are sold by theme, and raise money for hachnasat kallah. Some editions have already gone through multiple printings, and they are constantly adding collections. Visit their Instagram page @CookUpAWedding to see some of the many recipes they include.
Be Chic from Springfield, New Jersey will be there with great prices on kids’ clothing and accessories: tutus, ties and their collection of headbands and hats. Iluvsox will have men’s socks in fun patterns and Over My Head will sell netilat yadayim towels in plush, colorful prints. Jujubee was a very popular stop for emoji and other popular themed pillows and plush room decor for kids and teens. Incredible Creations will also be there with unique tableware, perfect for upcoming Chanukah gatherings, hostess gifts or any time a table needs a pick-me-up.
“We really looked to make sure people will find something for everyone at this boutique,” said Kurtz. The timing is early enough that parents can bring children, but also in the evening so they can shop alone if that is the goal. “We’re looking forward to a great turnout and excited shoppers with these fabulous vendors,” said Gross.
Finish up Chanukah shopping (cash or check only), or any shopping for that matter, at Ohr HaTorah on December 3, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Congregation Ohr HaTorah, 36 Rector Court in Bergenfield.
