Union Y Chanukahfest Seeks Israeli and Judaic Vendors

One of the Y’s biggest events, ‘Chanukahfest,’ will be held at the 501 Green Lane location on Sunday, November 20, from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. A featured highlight will be the opening of the Kirschenbaum Israel Center, a project of the Jewish Federation of Greater Metrowest. The room will feature “everything Israel” and will connect the community to the country, people and culture of Israel through books, films, media and special programs for people of all ages. It will be headed by the community shlicha, Duli Perlmutter.

The Chanukahfest will also have vendors for the holiday ‘shuk’ and as of this writing there are still available spaces ($25 table). Entertainment will be Klezmer Music from Hester Street Troupe, the JEC Choir and a special film. Food is available to purchase; there is no admission fee. A children’s art workshop (11:30-2:30) will feature “pay-by-the-piece ceramics” as well as other projects led by Stacie Lederman, art director for the summer camp programs. For information on being a vendor and to register, please contact Jani Jonas, assistant executive director at 908-289-8112, ext. 19.
