Westchester Torah Academy recently celebrated their Annual Shomrei Torah Event—which this year, was known as ‘The Greatest Siyum.’ For the last two months, students, together with their families, have been studying two sidrei Mishnah in preparation for the event. On Lag B’Omer, the school invited community rabbis including Rabbi Fink of Young Israel of New Rochelle, Rabbi Greenberg of Young Israel White Plains and Rabbi Bienenfeld of Young Israel Harrison to celebrate a siyum of Seder Moed followed by singing, a BBQ seudat mitzvah and, of course, a medurah with S’mores. Parents, grandparents and community members joined on the following Sunday for the annual dinner/seudat mitzvah and the siyum of Seder Nezikin. The siyum led by the graduating eighth graders was an extremely meaningful way to celebrate the first annual event at the permanent home of WTA.
