Women’s Initiative for Jewish Studies to Bring Dr. Lauren Gottlieb Lockshin to YINR via Zoom


Women’s Initiative for Jewish Studies (WIJS) at Young Israel of New Rochelle is proud to present Dr. Lauren Gottlieb Lockshin on Tuesday, March 14 at 8 p.m. on Zoom.

Lockshin will speak on the topic: “Defending Dreyfus: The First Modern Fight Against Antisemitism.”

Lauren Gottlieb Lockshin is Assistant Professor of History at Touro University’s Lander College for Women. She received her Ph.D. in European and Jewish History from Yale University in 2019, and has since completed fellowships with the University of Pennsylvania Kislak Center as well as the AJS Paula Hyman Program. Dr. Lockshin’s research areas include the history of antisemitism, the history of Zionism, and the Dreyfus Affair. Her most recent articles in Antisemitism Studies and Jewish History have shed light on some of the lesser-known aspects of the Dreyfus Affair and Jewish responses to it.
