Yavneh third grade students enjoyed hands-on experiences in Macculloch Hall Historical Museum’s gardens. Students learned about the history of the Maculloch family and the grounds. They planted their own bean plants in special soil and brought home their plant in their very own pot, learned that earthworms help gardens and participated in a nature scavenger hunt. The museum activities supported students’ classroom investigations of the water cycle, plants and reliance on the environment, which are topics in the rainforest unit.
