Kindergarten students learned about Parshat Bereishit and explored how Hashem created the world. When discussing Briyat Ha’olam, they learned about the wonderful things that Hashem created on each day. Students began with the concept of Tohu Vavohu, learning that the world was a “mishkabobble” before Hashem started His work. To that end, students continued their year-long art integration unit by looking at the works of Jackson Pollock. Each child created his/her own “Tohu Vavohu” masterpiece. They splattered, dripped and smeared the paint in any which way they chose. Students truly experienced the meaning of Tohu Vavohu and had a blast doing so!
