Teaneck—After the tremendous success of the past two years’ pre-chag boutique, the Young Israel of Teaneck Sisterhood Third Annual Boutique will take place this Sunday evening, offering all your holiday and back-to-school/fall essentials. With vendors coming from Brooklyn, the Five Towns and other areas, there is a wide range of items for everyone, according to YIOT Sisterhood President Deena Rosenberg.
“We continue to put a lot of thought into which vendors to invite each year,” said Rosenberg, who is also a member of the boutique committee. “We carefully curate vendors who are young and funky to mix in with the more classic exhibitors, and that seems to have really worked for us. We scoured the internet for new and trendy vendors and are very excited to share them with the community.”
With more than 30 vendors from the tri-state area, this year’s boutique promises to offer everything from last year—and more.
“The boutique offers something for everyone, no matter what stage of life you are in or what type of style you have,” said Rosenberg. “Athleisure is very popular, so we are bringing in Eye Heart Athletics to the show. We also have lots of great Judaica items from Weinreb’s Judaica for pre Yom Tov as well as iKippahs and tzizit, which are always a big need this time of year.”
In addition, the boutique will offer clothing for children and adults; home goods; hostess gifts; fine and costume jewelry; modern and traditional tablecloths, kippot and tzitzit; hats and doilies; wigs; hair accessories and even back-to-school items.
“The timing this year is great because it’s not only pre-Yom Tov, but also the first week of school,” Rosenberg added.
There will be a mix of the most popular vendors from last year and new vendors to ensure variety, but “we tried not to have any overlap. We have one person selling Lucite housewares, one selling tablecloths, one selling wigs—to make sure we have a wide variety for people to choose from without competition between vendors,” she continued.
The boutique committee, comprising Rosenberg, Bracha Goetz, Ariana Dalezman, Janet Hod, Dina Heiss, Rebecca Jesin, Laura Dayan and Janet Hod, has been hard at work on outreach for the boutique, which attracted hundreds of women last year and is expected to do the same this year.
“This is our time of year,” Rosenberg noted. “Other organizations do boutiques at other times during the year, but this has become our time. We try not to compete with them.”
Like last year, in addition to the boutique, there will be a raffle for a holiday essentials basket including items from our generous vendors as well as an Abbie Sophia Photography family photo session and $180 Seasons Clifton gift card. The event will raise money for the sisterhood, with a percentage going to the shul.
The boutique will be held on Sunday, September 10, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at Congregation Beth Shalom, located at 354 Maitland Avenue. Payment is by cash or check only.
